Welcome to another edition of Common Ground Online. Here's what's in this week's edition:
- Customer Survey Draw Winner
- Improved Mood and Behavior: An Open-label Case Series of Children
- Product Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices
In our last edition of Common Ground Online we offered 4 free bottles of EMPowerplus (value of $300 CAD) to one of you that took the time to take our brief customer survey. Congratulations to Ann Ballard, from British Columbia, Canada, for winning the draw! We thank her and all those who took the time to provide us with valuable feedback. We appreciate you assisting us in making our services better.
Dr. Bonnie Kaplan has published a third study on children. The results are very consistent with the positive findings Dr. Kaplan and her colleagues have already published in adults. Nine unselected children with mood and behavior problems were assessed for a minimum of eight weeks. The combined diagnoses of the nine children were: ADHD, Bipolar, ODD, Aspergers, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Prader Willi Syndrome and Rage. Outcomes were measured with the Young Mania Rating Scale, the Youth Outcome Questionaire, and the Child Behavior Checklist. For all nine the supplement was clinically beneficial, improvement was significant from baseline to final visit on seven of the eight CBCL scales, the YMRS, and the YOQ.

Truehope has a commitment to the quality of our products and to the quality of service we provide you.
Our products meet rigorous GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards. Our manufacturing and packaging facility is registered with and inspected by the FDA, the Department of Health and Human Services, and by NSF international. NSF international is a not-for-profit company that provides product certification and safety audits for a wide range of consumer products. This, along with the dedication of our Employees, is why you can depend on the quality, potency and purity of our products.
Each raw ingredient is placed in quarantine until it is assayed against its certificate of analysis to verify purity and potency. If the raw material does not meet specifications,it is not used. The raw materials are then brought into the mixing room where they are weighed according to a written formula for a predetermined number of capsules specified in the Manufacturing Batch Record (MBR).
These ingredients are blended according to written instructions specified in the Manufacturing Batch Record (MBR). The blended ingredients are placed in sterile drums and transported to the capsule filling room for encapsulation. Quality Control approves the setup before the operator of the capsule filling machine fills the hopper with blended raw material and starts the machine to begin production of the batch.
Encapsulation is continuously monitored to watch filling, tamping of the raw material and capsule ejection. Capsules are tested at the beginning of each batch and every 15 minutes during operation, a random sample of ten capsules is checked for weight and length compliance. Random samples of capsules are tested for disintegration time. Capsules typically release contents within 2 - 10 minutes.
Each step of the manufacturing process is monitored by supervisory personnel and verified by quality control for assuring that the capsules they manufacture meet the exact specifications in Manufacturing Batch Records (MBR). As each batch is completed, a random sample is tested in the laboratory. The finished product is thoroughly reviewed and verified against the Manufacturing Batch Record (MBR) for accuracy before the product is given a final stamp of approval and released for packaging and shipment.
