Welcome to another edition of Common Ground Online. Here's what's in this week's edition:
- Happy New Year!
- Truehope Conference Call this Thursday January 4th
- Do You Suffer from SAD?
From all of us at Truehope we wish you and your family the very best for the New Year. We care about your mental and emotional wellness and want to help you achieve your goals. We will be working harder than ever in 2007 to bring you the very best in EMPowerplus support and look forward to helping you.
TOPIC: Diet & Exercise and the Truehope Program
Many participants will want to start a diet and/or exercise program in the New Year. It is always a good idea if you are over-weight and/or sedentary to set goals for improvement. However, there are certain factors that Truehope Participants must be aware of before starting any diet or exercise program - factors that may affect the results. For example, many Participants have been on medications that can store in body tissues. These medications can be re-released into the body with the start of a diet or exercise program causing some side effects of the medication to return.
In this conference call you’ll get answers to questions such as:
- What effects can a diet have on the use of EMPowerplus?
- What effects can exercise have on the use of EMPowerplus?
- What effects can both diet and exercise together have on the use of EMPowerplus?
- How should I start a diet or exercise program with EMPowerplus?
- What are the potential risks of starting a diet or exercise program if I’m on medications?
- Do I have anything to worry about if I’m not on any medications at this time?
Don’t miss your chance to listen in live to Truehope co-founders David Hardy and Anthony Stephan discuss this important topic. Follow the link below to register now.

January is a difficult and depressing time for many people. The excitement of Christmas is over and the bills are coming in. But did you ever think that Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD might be the cause of these depressive feelings?
SAD is a type of depression caused by the shortening of daylight hours and the lack of sunlight in winter. Symptoms can be mild or severe and include:
- Desire to oversleep
- Lethargy
- Overeating, especially carbohydrates and sweet foods
- Depression
- Avoiding social contact
- Anxiety
- Loss of libido or sex drive
Depending on the severity of these symptoms, some form of treatment may be necessary. EMPowerplus has shown to be a very effective treatment for many SAD sufferers but for some, even that's not enough.
The most widely accepted treatment for SAD is a daily dose of light therapy. Exposure to direct sunlight is the best therapy even in Winter but again the daylight hours are limited and overcast skies are common. However, there are several manufacturers of high-quality light boxes that can provide the necessary light intensity needed to reduce symptoms.
